Born Nigel Jonathan Davies in East London, Justin de Villeneuve is best known for launching Twiggy as the world’s first Supermodel. While taking the name Christian St Forget during a hairdressing apprenticeship with Vidal Sassoon, de Villeneuve created his lasting alias after a chance encounter with then fifteen year old Twiggy. Their business and romantic relationship sparked his career as a photographer that would instil his iconic images in history. De Villeneuve’s portfolio boasts celebrated fashion shoots, iconic portrait sittings and various magazine covers for top fashion publications. Proud Chelsea celebrated the half centenary of de Villeneuve’s first shoot with Twiggy in Faces of the Sixties in 2012, featuring the fashion and fame captured by de Villeneuve.
