Colin Jones

Born in 1936, photographer Colin Jones has lived multiple lives, from East London child and war-time evacuee to dancer in the English Royal Ballet to army officer.  Jones experienced much success as a photographer from the 1960s onwards and is perhaps renowned – in the most part – for his photographs of The Who taken around this time. In more recent years however, Jones has received much attention and accolade for his photographs of ballet dancers, on-stage, behind the scenes, in rehearsal and in their daily lives.  Proud Galleries has shown Jones’ work in four solo shows, most recently in the 2015 exhibition A Life with The Royal Ballet.
