What started out as an intensive hobby, Schlegelmilch’s legendary motorsport photography has grown to supply commercial clients from advertising agents to publishers. Schlegelmilch has been photographing Formula One for over forty years taking his first images for his final exam at the Bavarian State School of Photography in 1962. His collection has captured both the cars and drivers from Jackie Stewart to Lewis Hamilton. The coverage of all major Grand Prix’s steered him toward commercial publication with all major listings of the automotive section. International clients include Shell, Mercedes, BMW, Tag Heuer and Champion, among others. He has published numerous editorial books on Formula One for brands like Ferrari, Aston Martin and Porsche. Proud Camden was pleased to present Schlegelmilch’s collection to coincide with the publication of his book The Golden Age of Formula 1 in 2010.
