What has been labelled ‘the most famous photograph taken of The Smiths’- the Salford Lads Club image- owes itself to none other than Stephen Wright. Wright’s images, though taken twenty five years ago, have remained renowned putting his name in the National Portrait Gallery. Contributing to the visual history of modern music, Wright has photographed Madonna, Prince, Nina Simone and of course The Smiths. As a current UK based photographer, Wright remains in demand for his creative portrait style.
