Robert Plant, Detroit, 31st January 1975

Photographer Michael Brennan was born in England, on August 13th 1943 in Sheffield, Yorkshire. At age 15 Michael had his first job, working as a messenger for national Sunday newspaper: The People. Brennan remembers it as a great job since many of his friends worked digging roads. The People was a newspaper known at the time for its massive circulation and for publishing sensational stories exposing vice bosses and London Mafia kingpins. On January 4, 1967 he took a series of terrifying photographs of the Englishman Donald Campbell crashing and dying while attempting the world water speed record on Lake Coniston. Brennan’s photos, which appeared in Life Magazine, won him the prestigious British News Picture of the Year award. Brennan then embarked on more than 30 years working in New York, where he shot some of the most prestigious sports stars and musicians, including Mohammed Ali and Led Zeppelin. Brennan's work features in Proud Chelsea's 2015 exhibition Led Zeppelin From the Beginning.
