Adam Ant, The Marquee, 1980
Denis O'Regan was born in London in 1953, and was first inspired to take up photography by David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust concert in 1973. As one of London’s premier rock photographers Denis O’Regan has shot the likes of The Rolling Stones, Queen, Thin Lizzy, Duran Duran and the many icons of Glastonbury. His first picture sale was a shot of Queen at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1976. The countless tours covered in his ever expanding portfolio feed the travel bug he caught in 1974, shortly after finishing school, on a railcard trip across Europe. Needless to say his close relationships in the world of rock and roll allowed opportunities to capture the renowned images we recognise every day. It is these behind-the-scenes glimpses of O’Regans collection of Thin Lizzy prints that Proud Camden featured in Vagabonds of the Western World in 2012.
